TRS Rewards
Rewards, Praise and Recognition
At our school we believe in positive discipline and recognise the positive effect praise and recognition has on student well-being, as well as being a fundamental contributor to raising achievement. Focusing on good behaviour, expected conduct, along with praise – helps to highlight student strengths and is a key component of good teaching, helping to build positive and lasting staff/student relationships.
Embedding rewards can bring about real positive change. The system of giving rewards supports the role of the form tutor in celebrating success and helps facilitate the awareness of achievement of other members of staff as well as parents. A student, whose achievements are recognised in any way, whether publicly or privately, is more likely to make a positive impact within the school community.
Staff are encouraged to provide rewards to positively reward tangible effort both inside and outside of the classroom. Students will be rewarded for meeting our high expectations in the classroom e.g. having a positive attitude to learning, respecting other students in the lesson, submitting home learning to a good standard, producing excellent classwork. Students can also be rewarded for being a positive role model around school e.g. helping other students and staff, being polite and mannerly, being a responsible citizen. Students have also had a voice in deciding how we reward them!
Positive behaviour will be recognised, rewarded, and celebrated through the core values of Integrity, Excellence and Ambition.
