Support
We take great pride in the quality of support we provide, ensuring that every student is known and feels valued.
We always work in close partnership with teachers, parents, carers and other specialist agencies in order to provide the best opportunities for our young people to develop and succeed.
Lexia Literacy club
To support Year 7 and 8 students who test with a lower reading age, EAL needs and/or literacy difficulties. Lexia is designed to allow students to work at a rate right for them and move on when they are ready. Lexia builds the core principles of literacy. The sessions run every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning in D8. Students are tested at key points to monitor progress.
Maths Mentoring club
The sessions run every Monday and Friday form time in D2 with Year 12 Maths mentors. Students have been selected based on their KS2 data. Each Year 7 student works with a Year 12 Mathematician and mentor working through their activity book. This is to build confidence in Maths and ensure a solid foundation is in place.
Year 9 High Prior Attainer programme
The sessions every Tuesday morning. The focus is stretch and challenging students in Year 9 who have been identified as HPA based on their KS2 data. The key topics of focus are vision, destinations, the supra curriculum, work experience opportunities, revision, and progress.
