Each day at The Ravensbourne School brings something different. A typical day would start at 8.10am when the first bell goes to signal the start of Form time. This is when you meet with your form tutor and form group who you will be with throughout your first year at TRS. This is a great opportunity to get to meet new people and make new friends. This part of the day prepares you for the lessons ahead.
At 8.45am you will head off to your first lesson. In your first few days at Ravensbourne it may feel a bit like being in a maze but you will soon get to know your way around. If ever you do get lost you can always ask a friendly face to point you in the right direction.
Each lesson is 100 minutes long and there are three lessons in a day. Your timetable will be on a fortnightly rota so you get a chance to try out lots of different subjects. The lessons cover a large range of topics and whatever your interests are there will be something for you.
The first break you get is after your first lesson. At this point in the day you can go out for some fresh air, get some snacks or meet up with your friends. The next break is for lunch. In the Lunch Hall there is choice of hot meals, salads, rolls and pasta. There are also side carts where you can pick up a quick lunch if you are in a hurry. Lunch break is also a time to get involved in extra curricular activities such as Sports, Languages, Art and music Clubs.
At the end of lessons you have some more form time before the last bell goes. Rather than rush off home this is a good chance to find out about all the extra-curricular opportunities that TRS have to offer. We have a fantastic range of Sports teams who compete both locally and nationally with other schools. There also Performing Arts clubs, the Lego club, Science Club and lots more to discover.

For any students who are thinking of joining us here at The Ravensbourne School these are some of the things you can expect.
You will have a form time in the morning and the afternoon, this is where you register with your form tutor and hand your phones in which will be given back to you at the end of the day. Form time is a really great time to get to know the other people in your form and build friendships.
You will have mini lessons delivered by older students as well! Throughout your school life you will compete in inter form as well as Sports Day’s where your form will go against the other forms to win the trophy. Throughout your school day you will have a minimum of three lessons, each of those are one hundred minutes long which gives you as much time as you like to ask questions if you are unsure about the work.
If you’re worried about what to do during your break and lunch times then there is no need to at all! There are so many clubs you can join with the majority of subjects offering some form of extra-curricular activity. However, if you aren’t a fan of something so structured then you still have so many things that you can do: you can play table tennis on one of our outdoor tables, eat lunch with your friends inside or outside and during the summer, when the weather is good enough, the field is also open where you can sit with your friends and there is the option to play football if you like.
We run so many after school clubs ranging from Sports to computer technology and departments are always welcoming to any new students who want to gain more of an insight into a particular subject. For those who are keen sports people then we also offer the chance to be part of our sports teams, if you love football for example but don’t really want to be in the team then the teachers are more than happy for you to come to training whenever you want to.
