Psychology
Head of Department: Mrs. K Situ
Subject Intent
To develop courageous, intellectual, contemporary psychologists.
The psychology curriculum serves as a window to the world, providing students with an understanding of the diverse range of human behaviour and experiences across different cultures and societies. At the same time, it acts as a mirror, allowing students to reflect on their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviours and gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the world. Moreover, the psychology curriculum is inclusive, embracing the diversity of learners and their unique perspectives and experiences. It broadens students' horizons and opens up a range of exciting career and academic pathways, from clinical psychology to neuroscience research, healthcare, education, technology and business. By promoting an awe-driven curiosity about the human body and mind, the psychology curriculum equips students with the necessary scientific knowledge, skills, and vocabulary to develop a better understanding of themselves and the wider world.
