Pastoral
Pastoral
Our pastoral structure is central to school life and plays a vital role in supporting pupils’ personal development, behaviour, attitudes and safeguarding. Daily morning tutor time provides a consistent and supportive routine in which staff monitor pupils’ wellbeing, attendance and readiness to learn, fostering positive relationships and enabling timely intervention when needed. High expectations for behaviour and conduct are reinforced through structured line‑ups and assemblies, helping to maintain a calm, orderly and respectful school environment. Assemblies address key themes such as safeguarding, respect, equality, character education and British values, ensuring pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is actively promoted. Ravensbourne TV is used effectively to communicate whole‑school messages, celebrate achievement and strengthen our sense of community. Reading for pleasure is embedded within pastoral time, supporting literacy development and encouraging a lifelong love of reading, while planned careers input ensures pupils are well informed about future pathways and prepared for their next steps.
