The Ravensbourne School Food Bank Initiative

In partnership with Sainsbury’s and Tesco, we have setup a food bank in response to our families experiencing exceptional hardship as a direct result of COVID-19. It is no exaggeration to say that these unprecedented times have devastated and inflicted untold suffering on many of our families who now simply cannot afford basic foods and essential household products.

The journey so far…

We have been overwhelmed by recent donations from local businesses, including Bromley FC and The Freemasons who are supplying many of our families with food during these difficult times. On top of this we have received a monetary donation of £3,000.00 and are delighted to have been approached by other local companies who wish to be involved in our initiative.

We are proud that some of our families have already reached out to seek help from us and we hope that our temporary food bank will go some way to alleviate hunger among those most in need. We currently have parcels going out daily.

How can you get involved?

We are hugely appreciative of the support from our local community but please ask that you only make a donation as part of an essential journey at this time. We are accepting donations Monday-Friday, 8am-12pm. We kindly ask that all donated items are non-perishable. There are storage units inside the doors of the main reception but outside of the glass doors. This is to ensure that there is minimal contact. Storage bins will be placed into isolation for a set period of time before being transferred to the general food bank.

A special thanks to Mr Bentt and his dedicated team – Mr Berry, Mrs Lee, Mr Contreras, Mr Anekwe and Ravensbourne Head Boy Lewis - for their astonishing efforts in just three weeks to create The Ravensbourne School Food Bank Initiative. We look forward to updating you on our progress over the next few months.
