Exceptional A Level results open doors to exciting futures

Our students and staff at The Ravensbourne Sixth Form are celebrating after a hugely successful year for A Level results.

Despite the significant challenges over the last few years, our students have been resilient and determined to strive for their own personal best and as a group they have raised the bar.

Their results have opened the door to places at a vast range of universities, including Exeter, King’s College London, Nottingham and Warwick, to sought-after degree apprenticeships, as well as to the world of work.

Those that are progressing to their chosen universities will be studying a wide range of exciting courses; from Acting to Law, Textiles to Computer Science, Television Production to History, and lots in between. Their choices reflect their individuality, and we are delighted for them.

Some individuals have achieved outstanding performances that warrant particular mention:

Scarlett is leaving The Ravensbourne Sixth Form having achieved phenomenal results - A*AA in Psychology, Religious Studies and Sociology as well as an A in her Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). She is looking forward to seeing what she can achieve next at the University of Nottingham where she will be studying Sociology.

The support I have received and the experiences I have encountered since joining the school in Year 7 have been second to none. I am astounded with what I have achieved today and am excited for what the future holds.

Jack gained an exceptional A*A*A in his Politics, Sociology and History A Levels and is now looking forward to attending the University of Exeter to read History. With dreams of a career in Law or teaching, he praises the school’s talented, passionate and supportive teachers.

It has been amazing to see the school transform over the last year. There is a strong sense of ambition and a culture of working hard to be the best you can be.

Our incredible Head Girl, Olivia, has secured her place at the University of Surrey to read Law after obtaining AAB in Music, Spanish and Law. She will also continue to study Spanish and aspires to either teach primary school children in Spain or train to become a lawyer after university. Olivia’s advice to younger students is to do what makes you happy and to do the best you can – the rest will follow.

Ravensbourne has given me valuable memories and life lessons that I will cherish and take with me into the future. I will not get another experience like this and will miss the staff, students and school greatly.

Our buoyant Head Boy, Stefan, has ambitious plans to embark on a career as a data analyst after securing A*BB in Business Studies, Psychology and PE. He attributes his success to the support of his teachers who offered help outside of lessons and provided extra work to challenge him further. Stefan is now moving on to study Computer Science at the University of Nottingham.

The teachers at The Ravensbourne Sixth Form are always willing to help – they go above and beyond to ensure you achieve your goals. I joined the school in Year 12 and am so glad I made the decision to move. My advice for younger pupils is to pace yourself with your revision and to not leave it to the last minute!

Headteacher, Mr Ridley commented: “These brilliant outcomes are well deserved and are testament to both the talent and dedication of our students and staff, and to the quality of education and individual attention we provide here at The Ravensbourne Sixth Form. We are proud to have opened the doors for our students to a huge range of exciting opportunities and we look forward to hearing about their future endeavours and accomplishments in the years ahead.”

Interim Head of Sixth Form, Mr Johal added: “Our inspirational students should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved today. They have encountered many obstacles along the way but remained positive in their approach to their studies and committed to achieving the best they possibly could. They threw themselves into life at the school, gaining valuable life skills and experiences alongside their excellent results.”
