Headteacher News

 4th  October 2021

 Dear Parents/Carers

I have promised to keep you informed of the Headteacher recruitment – I would like you to know that the interview process was rigorous and included staff, students, senior leaders, members of the E21C central team, Governors and Trustees.

I am delighted to announce that Mr Mark Ridley has been appointed as the substantive Headteacher at The Ravensbourne School. He has a wealth of leadership experience, most recently in the last 8 years as Deputy Headteacher and is currently working at Langley Park School for Boys. Mark is warmly welcomed to the E21C family of schools. He will work closely with Lisa Peterkin, Executive Headteacher for E21C Bromley Secondary Schools.

I am sure you will join me in wishing him a warm welcome, and he looks forward to meeting you all in the coming weeks and months.

Mr Ridley would like to share the following message:

“I am delighted to have this opportunity to introduce myself following my appointment as Headteacher at The Ravensbourne School. I look forward to leading the school on the next part of its journey and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to have an outstanding educational experience. I believe that students deserve the very best and this means all staff, families and students working together to improve standards further. I very much believe that if you stand still, you go backwards, and I am passionate about ensuring The Ravensbourne School continues in its pursuit of becoming the best school in the local

area. The school has a proud history of success and empowering its students to be responsible, resilient, articulate young adults. It is these very traits which I believe will make our young people ready to lead successful and happy lives moving into adulthood living in the 21st century. Education is the key to success and in the words of Nelson Mandela: “education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.

Mr Ridley will take up post with effect from January 2022. For your early information, please note that Tuesday 4th January 2022 has been designated an additional INSET Day and all students will return after the Christmas break on Wednesday 5th January 2022.

We all know that working together with you, our parents, is crucial to the success of your child and we thank you for your continued support.

Yours faithfully

Lisa Peterkin

Executive Headteacher for the E21C Bromley Secondary Schools
