KS5 Success Stories

We are incredibly proud of all of our students, but some individuals have achieved outstanding performances that warrant particular mention:

Scarlett is leaving The Ravensbourne Sixth Form having achieved phenomenal results - A*AA in Psychology, Religious Studies and Sociology as well as an A in her Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). She is looking forward to seeing what she can achieve next at the University of Nottingham where she will be studying Sociology.

The support I have received and the experiences I have encountered since joining the school in Year 7 have been second to none. I am astounded with what I have achieved today and am excited for what the future holds.

 

Jack gained an exceptional A*A*A in his Politics, Sociology and History A Levels and is now looking forward to attending the University of Exeter to read History. With dreams of a career in Law or teaching, he praises the school’s talented, passionate and supportive teachers.

"It has been amazing to see the school transform over the last year. There is a strong sense of ambition and a culture of working hard to be the best you can be."

 

 

Our incredible Head Girl, Olivia, has secured her place at the University of Surrey to read Law after obtaining AAB in Music, Spanish and Law. She will also continue to study Spanish and aspires to either teach primary school children in Spain or train to become a lawyer after university. Olivia’s advice to younger students is to do what makes you happy and to do the best you can – the rest will follow.

"Ravensbourne has given me valuable memories and life lessons that I will cherish and take with me into the future. I will not get another experience like this and will miss the staff, students and school greatly."

 

Our buoyant Head Boy, Stefan, has ambitious plans to embark on a career as a data analyst after securing A*BB in Business Studies, Psychology and PE. He attributes his success to the support of his teachers who offered help outside of lessons and provided extra work to challenge him further. Stefan is now moving on to study Computer Science at the University of Nottingham.

"The teachers at The Ravensbourne Sixth Form are always willing to help – they go above and beyond to ensure you achieve your goals. I joined the school in Year 12 and am so glad I made the decision to move. My advice for younger pupils is to pace yourself with your revision and to not leave it to the last minute!"

 

After a tough start to her A Level experience and delaying major surgery to put her studies first, Melanie overcame adversity to achieve a remarkable Triple Distinction* in Performing Arts. After recovering from her surgery in Japan, Melanie will be attending Italia Conti, the leading Performing Arts institution in the country. We can’t wait to see her take centre stage and achieve her dreams.

I would like to thank the students and staff at The Ravensbourne Sixth Form for being so kind, understanding and supportive. I have grown as an individual during my time here and have developed a wide range of new skills that will benefit me in the future.

 

Inspired by his routes in South Africa, Kyan is set to be the next David Attenborough with ambitions of filming wildlife documentaries in the future. Having secured Triple Distinction* in Creative Digital Media Production, he is off to Bournemouth University to study Television Production.

"The Media Department at The Ravensbourne School and Sixth Form is exceptional, from the modern technology and resources to the advanced knowledge and skills of the teachers. My advice to younger students is to be confident in yourself – you can achieve anything you set your mind to."

 

 

Harrison is looking forward to a successful future after achieving AABB in his EPQ and Geography, Politics and History A Levels. He was successful in gaining a place at his first choice university, Warwick, where he will be continuing to study History.

"I’ve learnt that you should make the most of the time you have here, as the work you do now can help decide the career path you end up following. My one piece of advice would be to utilise your free periods wisely."

 

 

Having achieved Triple Distinction* in Health and Social Care, Madeline is getting ready to complete a degree apprenticeship in Economics at the University of Kent. She praises the school’s facilities, resources and wide range of subject choices which allow students to pursue whatever pathway they want.

"My advice to future students is to start revising and do not leave it until the end – it sounds simple but it really makes a difference!"

 

 

Benneth reinvented himself after struggling in his mock exams. Having knuckled down and shown a great deal of commitment to his studies, he secured an impressive AAA in Geography, Psychology and Business Studies. Benneth has accepted a place at the University of Nottingham to study Computer Science.

"I would like to thank all of my teachers for their continuous support and motivation, for constantly pushing me to maximise my potential. The stimulating lessons and range of extracurricular opportunities available have driven me to achieve my absolute best, whilst developing my confidence and aspiration. To all new Sixth Form students, I wish them the best of luck. Stay on top of your work, utilise your free periods and listen to your teachers!"

 

Lexie has progressed academically and personally over her seven-year experience at The Ravensbourne School and was ecstatic to have achieved Double Distinction* in Creative Digital Media Production and Distinction in Digital Media Skills. She hopes to pursue a career in the TV industry after completing her Television Production degree at Bournemouth University.

I have had the most amazing two years at The Ravensbourne Sixth Form. My advice to younger students would be to just enjoy it and try your best.

 

Charles is celebrating after achieving an excellent set of results including A in Computer Science, A in Mathematics, B in Physics and a B in his EPQ. He is one step closer to his dream career as a Computer Scientist as he gets set to begin the next stage of his journey at King’s College London.

"The teachers here are subject specialists and are always on hand to provide you with the support you need. That coupled with the facilities and resources, makes The Ravensbourne Sixth Form a fantastic place to learn. My advice to younger students is to persevere, work hard and never give up."

 

 

Lizzi has successfully secured her place at the University of Portsmouth to study Fashion and Textiles. She was delighted to open her envelope to a B in Textiles, Distinction* in Business and Distinction in Creative Digital Media Production. Lizzi believes the community atmosphere at The Ravensbourne Sixth Form provides a great support network which has helped her to succeed in the subjects she is passionate about.

The additional support on offer and the revision techniques provided were so valuable. I genuinely believe the teachers care about the students at The Ravensbourne School – they work hard to motivate you and make sure you’re always on track to achieve your goals.

 

Bristol University will soon be welcoming Joshua after he gained D*D*D in Performing Arts. He is looking forward to the university lifestyle and gaining a plethora of new experiences as he commences his next chapter. His advice to future students would be to always aim high and ask for help from teachers if you need it as there is a large and accessible support network at the school.

"I would definitely recommend The Ravensbourne Sixth Form because of the personalised and supportive learning environment. I don’t think you’d get the same level of support elsewhere."

 

Stevie has grown in confidence over her time at The Ravensbourne School and is now leaving to pursue a career as a dental nurse. She was thrilled to achieve D*D*D in Drama and credits the school for focusing on building students’ characters and skills, and not just focusing on exams.

The Ravensbourne School has changed me for the better and has helped me to become the person I am today. Staying on at the Sixth Form was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

 

Peter obtained an impressive A in Finance and A* in History and is now looking forward to his next stage in education at the City, University of London where he’ll be studying Finance. Peter spoke highly of his teachers who provided the support and resources he needed to succeed. His advice to younger students is to always believe in your ability to perform your best and achieve your goals.

"The teachers are so devoted here at Ravensbourne. Regardless of your circumstances or starting point, they will direct you along the right path and will always put your needs first – it is rare to find such incredible support!"

 

Said is excited to attend the Guildford School of Acting in September after achieving an incredible D*D*D in Performing Arts. He is grateful for all the enrichment opportunities that the Sixth Form provided that allowed him to extend his learning and pursue his interests, from Drama club to theatre trips.

Not only do they ensure you achieve academic success, but they also provide bespoke careers guidance based on your future ambitions. The teachers really care about you and strive to ensure you reach your full potential."

 

Jay joined The Ravensbourne Sixth Form in Year 12, having never studied Drama before. The Sixth Form’s offer enticed her and thanks to the incredible teaching, facilities and resources in the Drama department, she shone and secured D*D*D in Performing Arts. Jay’s next step is slightly different to her peers as she is off to complete an apprenticeship in Carpentry. She is grateful to the supportive staff at the Sixth Form for helping her to reach her full potential.

I was fortunate to be able to participate in a range of extracurricular activities that supported my studies and developed my interests, from the exciting school performances to fascinating theatre trips. Whilst it can get hard at times, I would advise younger students to never give up – it is all worth it in the end.

 

James is another one of our future West End stars who is off to East 15 Acting School at the University of Essex in September. After years of hard work and perseverance, he was over the moon to attain D*D*D in Performing Arts and a Distinction in Creative Digital Media Production. James commented on the high quality teaching, facilities and resources in the Drama Department which drove his passion for the subject.  

"I cannot thank my teachers enough for guiding me to where I need to be and for inspiring and motivating me to do well."

 

 

Abby’s creative flair saw her achieve an excellent set of results including A* in Graphic Communication, A* in Textiles and Double Distinction* in Photography. Outside of her studies her passion is in designing and making jewellery and her next adventure at the University for the Creative Arts is the perfect fit. Abby is hoping her Jewellery and Silversmithing course will support her in achieving her ambition of setting up her own business one day.

"I would recommend The Ravensbourne Sixth Form because its small size means that you are known as an individual. The teachers and staff will always support you and help you to get to where you want to be. My advice to younger students is to keep persevering even when things get tough!"
