My ambition is to pursue a career as a fashion designer, and I know The Ravensbourne School will help me to achieve this goal thanks to their incredible Arts Department. I have loved learning new skills in Textiles and Graphics and feel myself becoming more independent in my learning. I can’t wait to see what the next few years bring, with challenging lessons and enjoying all the opportunities and experiences TRS have to offer.”

The school building is simply beautiful – it never gets old walking through the school gates every day. I am enjoying every aspect of school life at The Ravensbourne School, from our interesting lessons to the range of extracurricular clubs on offer. There really is something for everyone here, allowing you to pursue your interests and develop new skills, whilst making new friends too! I am currently involved in tennis club, Science club and TRS Pets! I love animals and dream of becoming a Vet one day.”

The teachers here at The Ravensbourne School have the students’ best interests at heart. They are so supportive not only with our academic learning, but our mental health too. The step up from primary school was a big one, especially with our lessons going more in-depth than before, but I value how much I am learning and can’t wait for all the new learning experiences that await me. My favourite subject is Computer Science and I hope to develop my knowledge and skills here at TRS to become a Computer Programmer or Coder in the future.”

The people here at The Ravensbourne School are one of the main reasons why this school is so enjoyable. The teachers help you to focus on your studies and inspire you to be the best you can be – our school motto – and the older students are very supportive and welcoming too. There are a range of leadership opportunities on offer at TRS and I can’t wait to become a mentor in the future to help new Year 7 students settle into secondary school life, just like others did for me. I love helping people and making the world a better place. That’s why I would like to pursue a career as a Doctor or a Dentist.”

I am really enjoying my experience so far at The Ravensbourne School and can feel myself growing as an individual. Whilst we are encouraged to do well in our academic subjects, there is so much else on offer at the school such as art, cooking, drama and sport, meaning I can try new things and gain new skills. I am proud to be part of the netball team and to represent the school at many matches and tournaments of which we have won a few!
I cannot wait for what the rest of my secondary school journey will bring, especially experiencing different subjects and going on a range of school trips. I hope to one day study Psychology at university, with dreams of becoming a therapist in the future.”

I found the jump from primary to secondary school a little scary, but I settled in at The Ravensbourne School quickly, making lots of friends and enjoying time with them. Our lessons are engaging and thorough – we are learning so much more in depth compared to primary school, but the teachers are really supportive and help you to understand.
I believe The Ravensbourne School is preparing me for the future by instilling the school values – the 5Rs – every day as well as providing me with the opportunity to develop key life skills through my role as Form Captain in Year 7. In this role, I enjoyed representing my class, helping my peers and building my confidence by presenting on important topics such as mental health and Black History Month.”

The teachers at The Ravensbourne School are exceptional. They make lessons engaging and interact with you in a personalised way so that you are stretched when you need the challenge and supported when you need extra help. This year, they have included GCSE content in our lessons which has been extremely helpful in preparing us for the step up to GCSE in Year 10.
I am grateful to the Drama Department who have helped me to come out of my shell – I have grown in confidence and have felt able to express myself openly and freely. I was honoured to be chosen to perform in the school production Aladdin, which unfortunately couldn’t take place due to the pandemic, but I’m sure there will be plenty of opportunities in the future!”

At The Ravensbourne School, there are numerous opportunities that every student should take advantage of and not miss out on – from sports teams to the choir and school trips to various leadership roles. This year, I visited Kew Gardens which supported my learning in Geography; and I have also been a member of the Student Leadership Team, supporting the Media Department with things, from putting together PowerPoint presentations to planning fundraising events.”

There is a real sense of community here at The Ravensbourne School as we work together towards common goals, whether that be in our academic studies, a sporting competition or charity fundraising. I aspire to run my own business one day and know that the skills and qualifications that I have, and will, gain at TRS is helping me towards achieving this dream.”
