Music Clubs
On top of offering the weekly musical ensembles the department also offers a variety of music clubs. These mainly revolve around the recent developments in music technology. Below is a list of the music clubs offered by the department.
Music Technology Club
Led by Mr Muzio every Monday lunchtime
All students are welcome to attend and use the music technology suite. Students can practice some of the music technology skills they have learnt in lessons or try out some of the different music software the department has to offer.
Club DJ
Led by Mr Muzio every Tuesday lunchtime
All students are welcome although there are only a limited number of spaces. The club runs on a first come first served policy. Students have the opportunity to try out the various radio and club DJ equipment the school has to offer with assistance from a member of music staff.
Trumpet Club
Led by Mr Beckett every Tuesday lunchtime
Students are invited to take part in this club at the start of the academic year. Students are given a weekly trumpet lesson in a group and are given the opportunity to take the trumpet to practice. This is a great way to start learning a musical instrument with minimal cost to parents. Spaces are limited so it is best to sign up quickly at the start of the school year.
Keyboard Club
Led by Mr Pearce every Thursday lunchtime
Open to all students, although it is usually more popular with key stage three (years 7, 8 and 9) students. Students can practice the keyboard skills they have learnt in class or just have fun making music using the keyboards.
Recording Studio
Led by Mr Muzio
The latest investment in the music department has seen the installation of a professional recording studio. Students are able to use the recording studio at various lunchtimes or after school. This must be pre-booked with Mr Muzio.
