English I.T.R.L.

Concept: Mr A. Lange
What is I.T.R.L.?
I.T.R.L. stands for Information Technology Related Literacy. Although reading and writing will always be essential to adult life, we now live in a world where literacy is not only applied to reading books and handwriting. Computers, e-mail, the internet and mobile phones are some of the most recognisable elements of modern technology that are used in nearly every workplace. In all forms of information technology literacy skills are still important in order to communicate clearly.
What to Think about…
· What type of information technology is the author using in order to communicate?
· Why has the author used this type of information technology?
· How does the author communicate with the intended audience?
· Has the author used this type of information technology well?
· How could you make it better?
I.T.R.L. at The Ravensbourne School…
Over the coming year, students will be applying the questions above in order to analyse and produce high-quality pieces of work which show their literacy in a variety of these modern technologies.
