Curriculum
Our curriculum is broad and balanced and fully meets all the requirements of the National Curriculum.Our students are placed in ability-based groups for most subjects from the beginning of Year 7. Additionally, and where appropriate, some subjects are taught in groups of mixed ability.
Gifted and talented students are developed by the work of a whole-school co-ordinator responsible for these students.
We have a clear concentration on the key areas of learning for students of the 21st century. Numeracy, Literacy and ICT education all receive more than the recommended amount of time.
A school that does not offer students a literate, numerate and ICT rich education does not prepare tomorrow’s adults adequately.
Equally, we place high value on the creative and performing arts. All students study Music and Drama as distinct subjects. Our curriculum is designed to develop the talents of all our students in the seven years they are with us.
