PERFORMING ARTS TEACHING ASSISTANT/TECHNICIAN
REQUIRED FOR SEPTEMBER 2013
25 hours a week, 39 weeks a year
Scale 2 point 13(Actual Salary £10,136.70)
The Ravensbourne School is a mixed comprehensive school in Bromley with a progressive and dynamic Performing Arts
Faculty. Our latest Ofsted report highlighted excellent teaching and learning; excellent quality of relationships
in school and very good leadership and management.
A varied and enriching experience in Performing Arts is a vital part of our students’ education. The Performing
Arts Faculty is committed to providing students with the highest quality of education. We are looking for an
individual who is able to engage and enthuse young people from a variety of backgrounds. The successful candidate
will be expected to carry out the following;
- Support in the delivery of Drama and Dance lessons.
- Support with day to day administration tasks.
- Assist with events run by the Performing Arts Faculty.
- Make sure the equipment and resources in the Faculty are maintained to a high standard.
- Regularly update displays in the departments to make sure they are inspiring and motivational learning
environments for young people.
The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to run their own Performing Arts groups or clubs at
lunchtime or after school.
It would be advantageous for any candidates applying to exhibit strengths in the following areas;
- Knowledge and skills associated with the subjects Drama and Dance.
- Technical ability and knowledge of how to set up and operate a lighting system.
- Confidence in using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- The ability to communicate effectively with others and work in a team environment.
