6.30am ⚊ 8.30am

Site Manager
Scale 5 point 22-25 depending on experience

The Ravensbourne School is a comprehensive secondary school with over 1600 students in attendance. With over 20 acres of land, listed buildings, a farm learning environment and sports facilities this is a busy site opening over 7 days per week. It is part of a local trust of schools in Bromley.

The core purpose of this position is to lead a team to ensure the Academy's site, buildings and furnishings are safe, secure, cleaned and maintained to standards defined by legal requirements, Health and Safety regulations and the Academy management. Experience or skills within the building trade or similar is desirable.

Ideally you will have experience of leading a team, an understanding of health and safety and manual handling, and will have IT skills. You will need to have a pleasant, courteous manner, with the ability to work in often reactive situations to meet the needs of the Academy.

There is a practical element to this role, where experience of carrying out simple repairs, maintenance and decorating are required.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for all aspects of site management, these include security, cleanliness, porterage, monitoring contracts/contractors, routine maintenance and refurbishment, minor repairs, organising quotes/tenders and contractors;
  • Be responsible for the line management and direction of team members.
  • Have the ability to apply regulations such as health & safety, manual handling, COSHH, Legionella etc;
  • Have staff management experience
  • Have the ability to prioritise and manage workflow whilst maintaining a flexible approach to respond to urgent requests

To work across all departments, providing academic and social support and assisting in organisation of lessons.

Previous experience of working in a school would be beneficial.
